Lead Practitioner, Cathy Jenkins, L.Ac. earned a Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with honors from Yo San University.  She specializes in musculoskeletal injury rehab, pain management, digestive problems, healthy aging preventative care, and much more.  Her approach is to identify, fortify, and help enhance the natural strengths of each patient in their healing process. She was born and raised in NYC and graduated from Barnard College, Columbia University with a BA in Cultural Anthropology and Dance. Cathy became interested in the workings of the human body, mind, and emotions at a young age, and was certified as a Life Coach in the very early stages of the field.  She found her own healing path first through the practice of various dance forms, then theater, poetry, and finally Eastern medicine.  Cathy believes that body awareness and restorative exercise should become key elements in healthcare.  Using a fusion of Pilates-based meditative exercise and bodywork, she has been helping people reduce pain and resolve movement limitations for over two decades. Her restorative exercise technique, ChiLates, is the result of over 20 years of teaching and learning, and reflects her knowledge of TCM. She has seen the effectiveness of using mindful exercise followed by acupuncture in restoring balance and preventing the recurrence of illness.  Cathy is hopeful about the future of Integrative Medicine and grateful for the growing dialog between conventional medical doctors and alternative practitioners.
